Editorial Policy
This policy explains how we produce our guides, how we stay independent, and how we handle accuracy and corrections.
Independence
CedarVenta is an independent information project — a practical guide, not a shop. We don’t sell saunas or installations, and we don’t take payment to rank, review or feature any particular brand: our guides are written on editorial merit. Where it genuinely helps readers, we may link to relevant manufacturers, suppliers and resources so you can compare specifications and options.
How we produce guides
Each guide is researched against:
- Manufacturer documentation and installation manuals for the equipment involved
- Published principles from Canadian building and electrical codes and fire-safety guidance
- Established cold-climate building practice
We write for the general reader — a homeowner planning an outdoor sauna — while keeping the technical detail accurate and honest about its limits. Where a topic depends on specifics we can’t know (your soil, your equipment, your local code), we say so and direct you to the right authority rather than inventing a universal answer.
Accuracy and its limits
Our guides are general information, not project-specific engineering or legal advice. We deliberately avoid publishing universal clearance values, do-it-yourself electrical wiring steps, or exact prices, because these depend on certified equipment, local regulations and site conditions. For anything safety-critical, we defer to the manufacturer’s manual, your local authorities and a licensed professional. See our safety disclaimer and content standards.
Authorship and dates
Guides are published by the CedarVenta Editorial Team. We do not attribute articles to invented individuals, and we do not claim credentials, certifications or field experience we don’t hold. Each guide shows its original publication date. We may revise guides to improve accuracy or clarity; we don’t display a separate “last updated” date.
Corrections
If you spot an error, please email [email protected]. We review corrections promptly and update the affected guide where warranted.
