About CedarVenta

CedarVenta is an independent information project about outdoor saunas in the Canadian climate. We don't sell saunas, install them, or take commissions — we just explain how to plan, build and run one well.

What this site is

CedarVenta is a reference for anyone planning, building, buying or maintaining an outdoor sauna in Canada. It brings the whole journey together in one place — from choosing a sauna type and getting the site right, through foundations, cold-climate construction, heaters and ventilation, to running and maintaining a sauna through a Canadian winter.

The focus is deliberately narrow: outdoor saunas in a cold climate. That’s where general sauna advice tends to fall short, because freeze-thaw cycles, deep frost, snow load and long stretches below freezing change what works.

What this site is not

CedarVenta is not a shop, a manufacturer, an installer or a directory of contractors. There are no products for sale, no “request a quote” forms, no advertising and no affiliate storefront. We don’t rank retailers or push a particular brand of heater. Where a decision depends on a specific product, we point you to the manufacturer’s manual and a qualified professional rather than a checkout page.

Who writes it

Articles are produced by the CedarVenta Editorial Team. We research each topic against manufacturer documentation, published building and electrical code principles, and established cold-climate building practice, and we’re explicit about the limits of general guidance. We don’t invent named experts, credentials or field experience we don’t have.
